Mr. Joseph E. Deyton Sr., 61, of Thurmont, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Wanda L. Morgan Deyton, his wife of 43 years. Born on September 14, 1955, he was the son of the late Harvey Everett and Betty Irene Rice Deyton. He was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Johnson High School. Up until his illness, he was an auto technician with Shockley Honda. Joe enjoyed watching his sons race their 1970 Firebird at 75-80 Dragway as well as cruising and working on his 1967 GTO; but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Joseph Deyton, II and Brian Deyton and wife Maggie all of Thurmont; four grandchildren: Emily Deyton, Joshua Deyton, Justin Deyton and Jake Hutchinson; a brother, Mark Deyton and wife Cinda of Mountaindale. the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 23, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24, with Rev. Arthur "Pete" Baugher officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 800 Wyman Park Drive, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD 21211. Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
