Mr. Joseph "Joe" M. Compofelice, 68, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away after a long battle with sarcomatoid mesothelioma, at Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of Susan "Sue" Cohen.Born September 18, 1946 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Giacalone Compofelice.Joe served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired after 30+ years with the U. S. Government at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. He loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughter, the apple of his eye. He also enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, golfing , playing poker and bowling. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children Nicole Williams and husband Kevin of Harrisburg, PA and Sharyn Compofelice and finance Joshua Amick of Sykesville, MD, his granddaughter Kaysi Williams, his siblings Frances Graybill, Vivian Robinson and husband Art, Anthony Compofelice and wife Teresa, and his brother-in-law Bob Graybill. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E.
