Joseph Burgess, Sr's Obituary
Joseph Burgess passed away on August 23, 2025, in Charles
Town, WV. He was born on November 13, 1950, to Roy and Marie Burgess in North
Carolina.
Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Burgess Jr, (daughter in
law) Karen Burgess, and grandchildren, Robert and John; daughter, Tracey
Sensibaugh, (son in law) Bill Sensibaugh, and grandchildren, Gabrielle and
Billy; and son Steven Burgess, (daughter in law) Estee Burgess, and grandchildren,
Ava and Gavin. Joe is also survived by his brothers, David and
Phillip; and sister, Dorothy. Joe' wife, Elizabeth Burgess, preceded his
death on November 15, 2013
Joe, a proud Vietnam veteran and devoted family man, passed
away peacefully. A man of quiet strength and unwavering loyalty, he served his
country with honor and carried those same values into every part of his life.
He was a loving husband to his late wife, Liz, whose memory he cherished every
day, and a steadfast father and grandfather whose guidance, humor, and
compassion shaped generations. His family was his greatest pride, and his
legacy lives on in the love, integrity, and courage he instilled in all who
knew him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 25,
2025 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm in the Catoctin Chapel at Resthaven in Frederick, MD with a memorial service starting at 1:00 pm.
