Josefina Lebron-Cruz, 95, was touched by an angel on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at her residence in Frederick, MD. Josefina was born on January 4, 1919, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Josefina grew up in Puerto Rico and later moved to New York with her husband. She was such a loving, compassionate, and inspiration to all she came in contact with. She loved to host events and cook for everyone in the community. Not only did she raise her 14 children, she also gave of herself to raise her grandchildren as well. She was a woman of ambition, peace, devotion, and wisdom. Often, she would share words of encouragement and hope to all. She leaves behind for all to cherish her legacy of compassion, love, and peace. Josefina is survived by sister, Carmen Cruz, Puerto Rico; three daughters, Candida Marin (Francisco) of Queens, NY, Beatriz Negron (Carlos) of Frederick, MD, and Luisa Cabrera (Jose) of Frederick, MD; two sons, Tomas Lebron Jr. of Frederick, MD, and Wilfredo Lebron of NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives. In addition to her husband, Tomas Lebron Sr., Josefina was preceded in death by eight children and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St., Frederick, MD. Public viewing will be at 12 noon, and the funeral will start at 1:00 p.m. Elder Vincent Fulton, officiating.
