John Melvin Tregoning, Sr., of Frederick, died on Sunday, November 1, 2015 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born June 13, 1945 in Darnestown, MD, John was the son of the late Lloyd Melvin and Mazie Elizabeth Watkins Tregoning. He earned an Associate Degree from Frederick Community College and served as a Frederick City Police Officer, Judge of the Orphans Court, and Chairman of the Frederick County Republican Central Committee. He was also a life insurance salesman, real estate broker, and owner of Tregoning Bail Bonds, Inc. John was a lifelong member of the Eagles, Amvets and Redmens Club. He is survived by his son, John M. Tregoning, Jr., of Frederick; grandsons Jacob and Kyle Tregoning of Thurmont; and special Aunt and Uncle Sara and Bob Keyser of Frederick. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, November 5th at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd.
