On February 11, 2017, John Edward Sinnott, Jr. of Rocky Ridge, Maryland, beloved husband of Donna Walters Sinnott passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Born August 1, 1927 in Baltimore to the late John, Sr. and Elizabeth Toulan Sinnott. He was predeceased by his first wife of 46 years Helen L. Kirk Sinnott. Son; Rodney D. Sinnott. Daughter; Linda D. Snyder Sinnott. Granddaughter; Kristy Foster. And brothers; Danny, Billy, and Austin Sinnott. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter; Robin Marie Sinnott Morris and husband Jack of Emmitsburg. Son; John E. Sinnott, III and husband Jon of Palm Springs, California. Brother; Gerald Sinnott. Sisters; Elizabeth Marie Black and Frances Stout. Granddaughters; Bridget Matthews and Danielle Shearer. Grandsons; Chad and Brandon Sinnott and John Nicholson. And numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and John's very special friends Don and Pam Brandt. John faithfully served his country as a fireman in the United States Navy, and protected the citizens of Baltimore City as a patrolman in the Traffic Division of the Baltimore City Police Department until his retirement in March of 1970. Prior to being a police officer, John worked as an Automotive Mechanic with the Maryland State Police. Upon retirement, he served as a school bus driving instructor for the Frederick County School system. John's lifelong passion was antique cars, being one of the most knowledgeable people about historic cars who owned too many to mention in his lifetime. He loved Bluegrass and Country music, Maryland steamed crabs and a good cold beer. He was a storyteller and quite a kidder. He was loved by so many friends, a good guy as anyone who knew him would say. In his lifetime one of the most important things he will be remembered by is his love of all animals, mostly dogs, he loved his dogs. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, February 15th at 1 PM in the Garden of Vets II at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John's name to either St. Jude Children Research Hospital www.stjude.org or the Frederick County Humane Society www.fchs.org.
