John W. Sheffer, 60, of Fairfield, PA, died on Weds., Sept. 2, 2015. He was born Aug. 13, 1955 in Franklin, PA, to the late Donald C. and Savinna Sheffer. John worked for many years at Beckley Camping Center and was currently employed with Covanta Energy. He enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 30 years, Hallie Sheffer, Fairfield, PA; three sons, Wendall Roberts, Hagerstown, MD, Daniel Sheffer, York, ME, and John Sheffer, Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Linda Wareham (Ronald) Stoneboro, PA, and Patricia Paris (Tim) Plainfield, IN; four brothers, George C. "Chip" Sheffer (Juanita), Greenville, PA, Dale Sheffer, Cochranton, PA, Mark Sheffer (Tabitha), Springbranch, TX, and Harry E. Sheffer (Marsha), Smethport, PA; eight grandchildren, Wardell Roberts, Teanna Spruce, Prince Roberts, Adriana Roberts, Shiheed Roberts, Alyssa Roberts, Branden Sheffer, and Kurtis Sheffer; two great grandchildren, Teon Spruce and Karson Roberts; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Wayne (Chuckie) Roberts; brother, Donald E. Sheffer; grandson, Wydell Roberts; paternal grandparents, John Sheffer and Laree Day; and maternal grandparents, Melvin and Mable Doverspike.Services will be held on Sat., Sept. 5, 2015, at Jackson Chapel UMC, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD, with a public viewing at 9 a.m., family hour at 10 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
