John Charles McCreight Sr.'s Obituary
John Charles McCreight, Sr. was born October 15, 1944 in Havre ‘de Grace, MD to Catherine “Rose” and Beverly Randolph McCreight. He is predeceased by his sister Terri. His sister Margaret lives in Rockville and his brother William lives in Germany.
In 9th grade he met the love of his life Janice Lee Taylor. They were married June 29, 1963. They had two children Terri and John Jr.
John was a hardworking and dedicated man who cared deeply for his family and took pride in the life he built. He shared both his life and career with his wife, Janice McCreight, and together they built a family and worked side by side for many years. Their partnership reflected the loyalty, commitment, and strong foundation that meant so much throughout his life.
As a Certified Public Accountant, John was known for being dependable, disciplined, and committed to his work. He approached both his career and his personal life with a strong sense of responsibility. He was a man who valued hard work, consistency, and taking care of those he loved. John & Janice started their own CPA firm and worked together every day. Many of their clients became life long friends.
They traveled in their motorhome to see their grandkids in Florida and in Utah. Their route was determined by what cemetery Janice needed to go to for her genealogy. John always did whatever Janice wanted to do. They went on many cruises with friends and traveled to Europe.
After Janice’s passing, he found many wonderful friends that put him in his place and drug him all over. They soon called themselves his “Harem” and helped him start to enjoy life again.
John moved to Florida to be closer to John Jr and his family and then landed in Orem, UT with his daughter and her husband. He made a large number of new friends in UT. He went to lunch twice a month with the GOAT group, helped set up numerous parties at church with Terri & Doug, and made friends with the ladies who did his pedicures. He loved Wendy’s Frosty’s and we had a free frosty key tag on every set of keys. He was introduced to Malasada’s and stopping to get one was a weekly event.
John lived a life marked by dedication, responsibility, and commitment to both his family and his profession. He leaves behind a legacy through the family he helped build, the work he faithfully carried out, and the lasting impression he made on those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind 2 children,8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren
He impatiently waited 3,692 days until he could be back with Janice. He talked about it every day. And now he is with her and seeing out of both eyes, so we are happy for him.
