John Charles Leishman's Obituary
Mr. John Charles Leishman, 87, of Frederick, Maryland passed away peacefully at Frederick Health Hospital on May 17th 2024. He was the beloved husband of Melva Leishman, his wife of 59 years.
John was born in South Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from South Charleston High School in 1955 along with his future wife and they moved to Frederick in 1968.
John was an Army veteran and worked for Eastalco Aluminum Company for 30 years. He enjoy volunteering and helping to get things done behind the scenes. John was an avid supporter of his son’s youth and high school sports teams.
John was preceded in death by his wife Melva and sister Ginger Newsome. His legacy continues through his family; Gary, wife Barbara and children Andrew and Christina; Jerry wife Denia and daughters Amanda and Nicole; Terry, wife Nancy and children Neil, Nadine and Jessica. John has 10 Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00-1:00 on Thursday May 23rd at Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway Frederick Maryland 21701. A funeral service will begin promptly at 1:00 with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John Leishman’s name to the Homewood Benevolent Fund. Make checks payable to Homewood Foundation, Inc. and send to Homewood Foundation, Inc. 16107 Elliott Parkway Williamsport Maryland 21795 with Benevolent Care in the memo line.
