We were best buddies from junior high through our Blair graduation, our first jobs and beyond. Among my many fond memories of our friendship is the evening you introduced me along with some others to Ellie at a homecoming dance I think it was. I recall being deeply impressed by the tenderness in your voice as you said that you've found someone you were ready to settle down with, and in the way you and she looked at one another. Alongside the resplendent Ellie at that moment, Johnny, you were the coolest, kindest and best looking guy on that floor! And 55 or so years on, when I last saw you about a month ago, you were still cool, kind and damned good looking. The attached snapshots help make the point, hard though it is to look at them without welling up. Rest in peace, sweet guy!
pops always had us on edge when ever we came over.. he was hard but he will be missed
John was a pistol and had a terrific sense of humor. He made me laugh so many times. Always a good time when John was around. He loved his family very much, and oh, how they will miss him. For a family to endure such loss is unimaginable. John and Ellie were family to me and my daughter for many years. I find great comfort in knowing they are all together in paradise. Kenny and Bren, Elner and John, Omi and Opa. Thank God for our memories.
So sorry for the loss of your father. He was a great neighbor and friend to us for many years. We were lucky to have known him and Ellie. He is now out of pain and with his loving wife. He will be missed but never forgotten. Prayers for you and your family through this difficult time.
