John C. Hawse, 80, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Carol L. Hawse. He was born July 8, 1935 in Lewisdale, Maryland, one of twelve children born to the late William Hammond and Mary Ellen Keith Hawse. He was a life member of the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department, serving as a member for 57 years. A member of the Montgomery County Firefighters Hall of Fame. A member of the Orioles Nest #331, and before retirement he had worked as a School Bus Driver and Truck Driver for Montgomery County Maryland. Surviving besides his wife Carol are daughters: Jayne Gardner and husband Eddie; Cheryl Hipkins and husband Frank; daughter-in-law Tina Hawse. Five grandchildren: Christina, Ryan, Danny, Justin and Patrick. Two great grandchildren Jesica and Jaden and his two brothers Wayne Hawse and Allen Hawse. He was preceded in death by his son John R. (Rick) Hawse, parents, seven sisters and two brothers. John will be sadly missed by his family, brothers, extended family members, and a lot of great friends. Friends may call on Thursday, January 14, at Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department, 25801 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, Maryland 20871, from 11:00 a.m. until funeral services begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Maryland In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department, or to his family to help with funeral expenses.
