Obituary
JoAnn Elaine Grable, 68, formerly of Frederick, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born April 11, 1948 near Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy Calvin and Catherine Virginia Miller Grable. She was also predeceased by her grandparents, George Daniel and Clara Kauffman Grable and Clinton Edgar and E. Josephine Carty Miller along with several aunts and uncles. JoAnn was the last of her immediate family. She had been employed by American Optical, Bechtal Corporation and she retired from the Frederick County Detention Center in Frederick. She has been a resident at the Vindabona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Braddock Heights for the past several years. Jo Ann was a graduate of Walkersville High School Class of 1967. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and her aunt, Patricia Joann Miller of Catoctin Furnace. She is also survived by many friends including special friend Barbara Reed of Gaithersburg. JoAnn enjoyed her dog "Pepper" and taking her dad on trips to Florida to see Spring Training baseball games. She also enjoyed embroidering and passed many of her finished pieces on to family members and to her friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 16th at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, from 11 am - 12 pm with a Celebration of Her Life beginning at noon with Father Richard Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Christus I. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice in her name.
