Jesse Eugene Higgins' Obituary
Jesse Eugene Higgins, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Frederick, Maryland on January 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 30, 1945, in Derwood, Maryland, Son of the late Charles Higgins Sr and Goldie Higgins Day. Jesse worked as a Police Officer and Shift Commander with the Montgomery County Police Department until retiring in 2004. He was a Naval Petty Officer and served in Vietnam prior to joining the Police Force.
Jesse loved camping and was a huge Civil War buff. He also loved his dog, Max, they did everything together. He often participated in organizations such as the local VFW, American Legion Post 11 and the Vietnam Veterans Organization 304.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Linda Darlene Watson-Higgins; sister, Mary Hall; daughter, Veronica Higgins; stepson, Dwayne Watson; loving companion, Benji and many other family members.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Higgins Jr and Joseph Richard Higgins, sister, Esther Proffitt and his faithful companion Max.
Visitation will take place on January 24, 2023, from 11 am to 12 pm with a funeral service beginning at 12pm at Resthaven Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, 9501 Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick MD 21701. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
At the family's request, please dress casually.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Jesse Eugene Higgins to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or your local Humane Society.
