Jerry Smith's Obituary
Jerry Smith, 86, of Ijamsville, Maryland, passed away in his home in June 4, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was diagnosed with metastatic cancer on May 9.
Jerry, known for his good humor, great work ethic, and his love of motorcycles, cars and Budweiser beer will be greatly missed. Known as “Snuffy” or “Smitty”, Jerry never met a person he didn’t call a friend. He worked as a general contractor for his professional career; remodeling homes throughout Bethesda, Garrett Park, and other areas of Montgomery County. He enjoyed golfing, buying and selling antiques, hunting, and was known as an expert on Parker shotguns. More than anything, Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Solveig, children, Maria, Nina, and Mike, grandchildren, Brett, Kendra, Alex, and Kiersten, and also importantly, “the outlaws” Dave, Chris, Julie, Rony, and soon to join the family, Annelise.
A celebration of life will be held on June 26, 2024, from 12pm to 3pm at Green Meadows Petting Farm, 10102 Fingerboard Rd., Ijamsville, MD 21754. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Frederick Health Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
