Jennifer Blevins Green's Obituary
JENNIFER BLEVINS GREEN…A REMARKABLE LIFE WELL LIVED
“Do what you have to do, so you can do what you want to do.”
BELOVED WIFE, MOTHER, AUNT, TEACHER, DOG SITTER AND FRIEND
Jennifer was born on August 31, 1970, in Augusta, Georgia to Robert and Joyce Blevins. She was preceded in death by her father and sister Jeannie Blevins.
Jennifer, 55, fought a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with colon cancer with her signature grace, grit, and wicked sense of humor. She passed away on May 28, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family and dogs, who remained by her side throughout every treatment and hospital stay.
Left to cherish Jennifer’s countless, priceless, and one-of-a kind memories are her dedicated family members: Her husband of 30 years, Sean Green; daughter Logan Green and son Brycen Green of Middletown, all of whom she fiercely (and with good humor) loved. Jennifer and Sean, a local power couple, would have celebrated 31 years of marriage on June 10, 2026.
She is also survived by her loving fur babies Bogie and Lucy Green and her grand fur babies Pixy, Rolo, and Phoebe.
Jennifer leaves behind her mother Joyce Blevins, brother Rob Blevins (Diane), and sister Julie Carter all of Georgia; her father-in-law Bob Green (Kathleen); brother-in-law Mark Green; six nieces; one nephew; three great nieces; and five great nephews.
Jennifer never met a dog or student (except maybe one student, two at the most) who she didn’t love.
For more than 30 years, Jennifer’s remarkable and unique teaching abilities touched and bettered the lives of hundreds of children, many of whom resided in the Middletown Valley. “Mrs. Green” had the uncanny ability to restructure the monotony of a school day into fun-filled adventures where students longed to return each and every day. Blessed with a special talent for design, she was known for her creative bulletin boards and original decor where classrooms were turned into tropical rainforests or a favorite planet in outer space. She spent months - to the delight of her students - planning, ordering, and designing her latest Halloween costumes, dressing as favorite children’s characters or very best friends (Carol Chatfield).
She was also well known in the local community for her role as a dog sitter, bestowing her unconditional love on each and every canine in her care. Because of her compassionate soul, so many residents entrusted Jennifer with their dogs and cats, and she responded by treating each one as her very own. Just like her students did, each pet loved her deeply, allowing residents a peace of mind as they were able to relax on well-deserved vacations because of Jennifer’s attentive care. Jennifer not only welcomed pets into her home, but into her bed as well to cuddle at night, leaving Sean to search for available couch space in the wee hours of the morning.
Jennifer loved to travel the world. The convenience of a local beach was never quite sufficient. Over the years, some of Jennifer’s escapades took her to the Appalachian Trail, Scotland, Egypt, and the Maldives, to name just a few. Whenever Jennifer made it through TSA checkpoints (she was infamous for being stopped by security guards for having something in her bag that was off-limits - water in her bottles, missing fruit from the plane), she experienced moments of a lifetime by dressing as local Egyptians and riding camels around the Great Pyramids, touring ancient castles, and crafting spirits at European distilleries.
Jennifer’s knack for home decor shone brightest each holiday season on Granite Drive, but even more so at Halloween, when she took great pleasure in decorating her front yard with a variety of skulls and bones - adding new features and concocting new ghoulish settings each season.
When Jennifer became ill, six of her closest friends at Middletown United Methodist Church Preschool (MUMC), where she taught students and touched the lives of co-workers and parents for some 15 years, rallied behind her, affectionately forming a support group entitled “GANG GREEN!”
A beautiful bright light has been extinguished in the Middletown Valley; however, the Georgia native leaves behind a legacy of southern charm that she bestowed upon her family, closest confidants, students, and furry friends in mid-Maryland. Her loss has been felt deeply by all those that she has nurtured, encouraged, helped, and made laugh, but memories of Jennifer’s kindness, quick wit, and determination will live on.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, JUNE 26, 2026, at 5:30-8p.m. at Daybreak to honor Jennifer and celebrate the joy that she brought into all of our lives. All are welcome!
