Janet Blaylock's Obituary
A strong and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Janet Louise Blaylock went home to join her heavenly family Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband James Blaylock; mother Betty Walsh; Father John Doud; and brother John Doud Jr. Loved and terribly missed, Janet leaves behind her daughter, Kathleen Dilley; son-in-law Bryan Dilley, grand-children, Cole Dilley and wife Brandy Dilley, Rebekah Rodriguez, and Hunter Dilley; and great-grandchild Emilia Rodriguez and step great-grandchild Illiana Rodriguez.
Growing up in West Virginia then moving to Pittsburg, Janet graduated high school and beauty school where she earned her cosmetology license. In her early 20's, she moved to Maryland to work in a high-end Rockville salon. After being persuaded into a blind date, Janet fell in love with her husband James for the next 57 years. Shortly after having her only child Kathleen, Janet managed an in-home daycare for 31 years loving on way too many children to count. Finishing out her career, she worked for Hallmark and Frederick Memorial Hospital. After retirement, she enjoyed snow birding to New Smyrna Florida and Gulf Shores Alabama. Serving at her church Faith Baptist, Janet worked in the church's clothes closet and kitchen.
Janet spent her final days loved and embraced by her endearing daughter and grandchildren. To honor Janet's memory, we are hosting a remembrance service and luncheon on Wednesday, March 15th 11am at Resthaven Funeral Home located at 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick Maryland 21701. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Frederick Health Hospice for whom we are eternally grateful.
