Mr. James Bernard Fink, Sr., 83, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2019. He was the devoted husband of Mary Fink, of Hagerstown, his wife of 64 years. Born in Olney, MD, James was the son of the late Mildred Gates. He served in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a lineman for Ivy Smith Co. for 20 years and Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. for another 20 years. In his younger days, he liked hunting and fishing, and in later years enjoyed gardening. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Fink is survived by three children, Rose (Steve), Shirley (Tom), and James, Jr. (Patsy); four grandchildren, Kati, Sam, J.B. and Kristi; six great-grandchildren (+1 on the way), and many other friends and extended family. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 24th from 10 AM - 12 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon. Interment with military honors will follow in the Veterans Garden of Honor at Resthaven; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doey's House (www.hospiceofwc.org).
