James Lee Doody III's Obituary
Obituary
James Lee Doody, III passed from this earthly life on April 14, 2018. James was born and raised in Frederick County and succumbed to his life long battle with type 1 juvenile diabetes at the age of 44. Because of his struggle it was necessary for James to give up the work he loved with Comcast, Xfinity cable. In his younger years, James enjoyed bowling and later developed a passion for hunting. He was his daughter's number one fan, and was instrumental in her passion for fast-pitch softball. His son was his best buddy. James is survived by the loves of his life, Felicity, Corey, and Lillian Doody. He is also survived by his mother and her companion, Mignetta Doody and Richard Smith; father, James Doody, Jr. and step-mother, Stacy Doody; grandmothers, Ruth Dorricott and Mary Doody; sister, Grace Brice, and also his devoted caregiver and his brother, Michael Crummel; brother-in-law, Frank Brice, nephews Joshua and Zachary Brice and great niece, Abigail Doody; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. James also leaves behind two young women whom he thought of as his family, Ashley Evans and Erica Rohrback. He will also be remembered by three life long friends, JP and Jamie Gregory, and Joe Connolly. Time with the family will be observed on Thursday, April 19th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Knowing Christ as our savior and understanding the written word of God takes the sting out of death. It leaves behind a gentle peace to those who believe.
