James Edward Barbour passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Wesley Chapel, FL. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on October 28, 1946, James lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep affection for those around him.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, James served honorably for three years He was a meteorologist and Met Observer. His commitment earned him the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and recognition as a Marksman Rifleman. He
He was discharged in August 1966, having made a lasting impact through his service. Following his military career, James worked as a professional truck driver, a role that reflected his strong work ethic and love for the open road. He was known for his reliability, his quiet strength, and his unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
James found joy in the simple pleasures of life especially fishing, which brought him peace and connection to nature. He was a man who cherished time spent with loved ones, always ready with a warm smile and a listening ear.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Anne Barbour, and his children.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Garden in Frederick.
