Beloved husband and father and warm friend to many.
Jake was the husband of the wise and lovely Rachel Dzik and together with Rachel, Jake was the proud father of 5 living children Gavin, Ava, Fiona, Felix, Flynn and one child having gone to Heaven River Jacob.
Jake passed away from heart complications Brought on by an infection related to His two and half year long battle with 1% Kidney function.
The cause of the sudden and aggressive onset of kidney disease remains unknown to family and medical professionals alike.
Jake’s last two days on earth were spent in a hospital room in a state of peace that was other worldly. Jake's wife Rachel who spent day and night by Jake’s bedside shared that Jake would often proclaim “ I feel Peace!” “I never knew this feeling existed”
During those two days Jake shared a dear, and jovial, spiritually close Friday afternoon with his children and wife.
Jake’s last moments were spent joking with his wife and favorite nurse in his sunshine filled hospital room.
Jake’s ultimate graduation to Heaven was swift but allowed a brief moment of goodbye between Jake and his wife.
Jake was a fun and servant hearted Small automotive business owner located in Frederick Maryland.
And His wife Rachel and his Right hand Man Dom Salazar remain in business and appreciate any and all work scheduled to keep the doors open and the dreams of Jake Dzik alive and his 5 children living a life of honor and provision.
The joy of Jake’s heart was to serve his clients, his friends, his family, his community, and his Maker in heaven, Jesus Christ.
Jake was born in Montgomery county Maryland to Carol and Lenard Dzik who did their best by Their two sons and gifted Jake with a childhood of rich humor. Despite his parents best efforts Jake grew up knowing hardship and struggle in many forms. But despite his rough beginnings Jake grew up to achieve the American dream. Jake’s life embodied the triumph of the underdog rising to a life of honor, entrepreneurial success, and the richness of family friendship, love and purpose.
From a young age Jake was musical and spent much of his youth in a band or tinkering with guitars. As an adult Jake spent many a year on the altar of Cedarbrook Community Church worshiping Jesus and playing bass. Providing that steady beat in the background. On the Sundays Jake wasn’t leading worship; he was serving on a team of men leading a small group of middle school boys.
Jake carried in his heart a grace for The struggles of life, a gift that grew out from the hardship of his beginnings.
At a young age Jake discovered his talent for fixing the lawn mowers of neighbors and turning a dollar into many dollars or at least turning a dollar into a meal.
Early on in life Jake discovered the Proverb about laughter was true. “laughter is good medicine”
Jake loved to make people laugh and he enjoyed a good laugh himself. If Jake could lighten any load with humor he did. Jake loved the challenge of bringing humor and laughter into the dark places and indeed all the places.
Jake loved challenging all supposedly “impossible” challenges. He loved the challenge and the joy of knowing he was fearfully and beautifully made in the image of His creator, His Heavenly Father the Lord of the Universe Jesus Christ.
Early on in childhood Jake also discovered the joy of living a life of serving others and feeling the ping of joy that comes from a job well done and absorbing the natural gratitude that flows from a person who received help in their time of need.
At the young age of 18 Jake prayed a prayer of help to the lord Jesus Christ , despite being told by childhood church leaders he was not allowed to talk to Jesus, Jake’s heart prayed anyway.
Jake’s heart broke the boundary of religion and reached out to Jesus in spirit and in truth.
And within the month he met his wife Rachel who had prayed a similar prayer that same month. And together they built a life of joy, jokes, music, fixing the supposedly” unfixable”, building a business, nurturing friendships, building and birthing family, cooking meals together, making many family mistakes together and leaning into humility and grace and walking out forgiveness.
Jake and Rachel prayed their business into existence when they were the young age of 17 and 18 years old. Buy the ages of 25 and 26 they started their business The Shop Autowerx LLc. with $400 in the bank and their third child growing in the womb. Faith, prayer, determination, bartering, trading, hard work, resourcefulness, literal blood sweet and tears, and Jesus Christ brought Jake’s dream to life. From 2009 to the day of his passing in Sep of 2025 Jake served his clients like they were family. Often running to the aid of a friend or the wife and children of a friend stranded with car problems. Jake Often shared lunches with clients and offered a listening ear along with an oil change or motor rebuild.
The automotive business dream always included a hope for a place to serve God's hurting children as well as keep every car on the road as long as possible, and the dream was made real. And as jake built his business in his heart of hearts Jake knew Psalms 139:14 was true
Jake was fearfully and beautifully made in the image of God, his one true father.
and Jake was purpose driven and he was what Jesus said about him.
For fun Jake would build custom guitars. Or smoke meats for his family or dream up something delicious to grill for his wife and children and friends. Jake often took his lunch breaks with friends and clients.
Playing on his guitar at home was equally as important, usually before bed time, but also in the mornings at The SHOP Autowerx before the business day began.
At church Jake Played the base on the alter along with his brethren.
Jake built custom guitars for himself and for friends as he delighted in tinkering and Fixing up the abandoned and “too broken” things of life . Ranging from lawnmowers, cars and all machines including Rachel’s pressure cookers, crock pots gardens and chicken houses.
Often Jake and his wife Rachel would enjoy hikes with their 5 living children. Catoctin Mountain was a favorite place of Jake’s.
Towards the end of Jake’s life he loved a day on the water fishing and feeling at peace in nature by the water. He’d remember the feeling of his youthful days spent fishing on the Chesapeake bay in his grandfather's small dingy boat. Discovering the small overlooked places of the larger boats.
In the last few years of Jake’s life on earth he enjoyed slowing down with his teenagers and toddler and wife for family time of Evening Bible reading and discussions. This quiet time became more precious as Jake’s energy became less and less. The teenagers became more and more busy.
It was a family time of joy of swapping funny stories of the day, usually featuring the baby of the family Flynn as the key figure of humor and cuteness and pure joy.
Jake lived his Short life well
Not perfectly, but well.
He loved his children well
Not perfectly but well
He loved his wife dearly and sweetly
And again Not perfectly
But well.
Jake gave of himself and lived a life well loved by so many and now he has made it to his forever home where he awaits his friends and family to join him one day in eternal glory and the peace that passes understanding.
If you desire to help Jake’s surviving widow and 5 children they have GoFundMe set up by a family friend. And they are happy for any work scheduled with The SHOP Autowerx LLC
