Idabelle Toms' Obituary
Idabelle (Dimp) Toms, 98 formerly of Frederick, MD passed on to eternal peace December 27, 2024 at Pruitt Health in Beaufort, NC. She was born June 2, 1926 in Lantz, MD. She was the daughter of Raymond and Lucy Toms, the youngest of five children. Both parents and siblings preceded her in death. She was married to Lee Toms for almost 65 years before his passing in 2015.
She grew up in Frederick County and went to Middleton High school. She played basketball in school and loved playing sports, especially softball and volleyball at family reunions. She bowled Duckpins for several different teams in Frederick and won many awards and trophies. From time to time, she worked at the Election polls with her good friend Peggy Garst. She loved her family and extended family more than anything. Her friends she held dear. She loved to garden, seeing flowers and blooming trees made her smile. She loved their many family dogs as her own children. She loved to travel with her loving husband Lee, their friends and relatives. Especially if it included stopping at antique shops along the way. Antiques were their passion. She enjoyed and loved life to its fullest. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son Jeff Toms (Kelly) of Morehead City, NC with whom she lived with for the past few years; her daughter Debbie Toms of Germantown, MD; her grandson Shane Toms (Alyssa) of St. Thomas, VI; numerous nieces and nephews; sister in-law Arlene Helm of Littlestown, PA; brother in-law Glen Toms of Emmitsburg, MD.
