Mrs. Ida Virginia Donahoe's Obituary
Mrs. Ida Donahoe, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2023.
Ida was born on September 30, 1945 in Cumberland, Maryland, a place she dearly loved and always referred to as “home.” She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Donahoe. They were married for nearly 50 years.
She is survived by her children, Dewayne and his wife, Gina of Jefferson, and Beverly Lawson and her partner, Craig Palen of Middletown, grandchildren Hunter and Abby Donahoe, and Stephanie and Hayley Cross and her husband, Andrew Cross. She is also survived by one sister, Thelma Huffman, and her husband, Anthony, of Corriganville, Maryland. Ida is also survived by her beloved dog, Oreo, who was a steady and constant companion.
She was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed spending time with friends at The Oriole’s Nest. She enjoyed a good trip to Ross’ - finding great bargains and interesting treasures to transform into new things. She loved interior design and home decorating.
Ida enjoyed tending plants and gardening outdoors. Ida was a lover of salty sweet treats and hot coffee. She loved home cooking…cabbage and potatoes, and anything with onions.
Visitation will occur on Thursday, July 6, 2023, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 B Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick, where
funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. A small reception will be held after the service.
