Mr. Howard Marvin "Snookie" Ambrose, 90, of Brunswick died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Somerford House. He was the husband of the late Betty Lou Cavalier-Ambrose, who predeceased him on November 2, 2004. Born August 10, 1926 in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Bertie (Forrest) and Walter C. Ambrose. Howard was an insurance agent for 47 years, rising to the rank of regional vice-president of Home Mutual Life, now known as Baltimore Life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served his country during World War II. Howard was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, the Elks Lodge, and the VFW, where he walked 18 holes of golf and played daily until he turned 88. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie "Kinze" Levy and husband, Bernie, of Frederick; son Mike "Rocky" Ambrose and wife, Tammy, of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Bryon Willard, and Colby and Blake Ambrose; five great-grandchildren, Tristan Geddy, Katelyn Willard, Kylee Willard, Bryon Willard, and Kayla Willard. He will be remembered by his former wife and mother of his children, Emma E. Ambrose of Frederick. He was predeceased by two brothers. Howard will now spend eternity dancing with the love of his life, Betty Lou. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 15. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O.
