Howard Grant "Mickey" Myers, age 82, of Libertytown, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Born September 6, 1933, in Urbana, he was the son of the late Roger H. and Rachel Darr Myers. He was the husband of Margaret R. "Margie" Morrissey Myers, his wife of almost 57 years. Mr. Myers was a 1952 graduate of Frederick High School, where he participated in many sports. After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served in Guam during the Korean War. He was employed with Urbana Radio and TV, and then was owner/operator of Mick's TV, Libertytown. He was a member or Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as treasurer for several years, and a member of Libertytown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed duckpin bowling, playing fast pitch softball and cards, collecting coins, and his dog "Half Pint". He was an avid traveler, and for the past 35 years enjoyed flea marketing with his wife. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children, Beverly A. Myers of Frederick, Timothy Grant Myers Sr. and wife Norma Ellen of Kemptown, and Michael A. "Tony" Myers and wife Debbie of Westminster; grandchildren, Crystal Jones and husband James, Patricia Horn and husband Will, Rodney Mayhew Jr., Kevin Colson, Jimmy Reed, Timothy "TJ" Myers Jr. and wife Sarah, Michael Myers and wife Hanna, Alicia Rutherford and husband Joseph, Joshua Mayhew, Samantha Goodson and husband Tae, Alex Biggus, Thomas Myers, Sammy Biggus Jr., Jessica Carraway; 38 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger C. Myers and wife Cleo of Libertytown, Robert B. Myers and wife Sandy of Frederick; sister-in-law, Frances Myers; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Michael Myers. He will be remembered by his good friends, Doug Hannah, John Grob, Johnny Eyler, Hank Timley, John Beall, and Chet and Charlotte Browning. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown on Sunday, May 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 23 at 11 a.m. Pastor James Jones, grandson-in-law, and Rev. Jerry Cline, his pastor, will officiate. Military interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made to LibertyCentral United Methodist Church, P.O.
