Herbert McComas Hoffmaster, 87, of Frederick, MD, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his home. Herbert is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Naomi "Bonnie" Hoffmaster. Born on April 15, 1929 in Bakerton, WV, he was the son of the late Edmund Schley and Elsie May Mauck Hoffmaster Herbert proudly served his country during the Korean war; he retired from his life-long career at GenStar Stone Quarry. Herbert was a faithful member of the Frederick Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Denise (Michael) Main, son Gregory (Beverly) Hoffmaster, daughter Susan (Robert) Koogle, son Bruce (Angela) Hoffmaster, son Patrick (Eileen) Hoffmaster, grandson Christopher (Kristine) Hoffmaster, grandson Bruce (Meagan) Hoffmaster, Jr, grandson Bradley (Cari) Hoffmaster, grandson Robert (Emily) Koogle, Jr, granddaughter Chelsie (Ryan) Lundregan, grandson Dominic (Marisa Aguirre) Hoffmaster, grandson Marshall Hoffmaster, granddaughter Ariel Hoffmaster and 7 great-grandsons. Herbert is also survived by his sister Mary Griffin and sister-in-law Leila Hoffmaster. Herbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Elsie Hoffmaster, his son Herbert Hoffmaster, his granddaughter Stacy Hoffmaster, his sisters Gladys and Eleanor Unger, and his brother Edmund Hoffmaster. The family will receive friends from 4-6 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, January 10 at Frederick Baptist Church, 5305 Mt. Zion Road Frederick where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at 11:00. Interment, Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702 or American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
