Obituary
Hazel Larue Jones, 73, of Frederick, passed from this life to Heaven on January 11, 2018. She was born in Frederick in her grandparents log cabin on April 3, 1944 and was delivered by her grandmother, Mary Metz. She was the daughter of the late Hayes Luther Metz and Elizabeth Mae Ramsburg Metz Staub. She was a member of Frederick Baptist Church. Hazel was married to Carl Price and they had three children, Carol Jean (Jeannie) Russell, Kenneth (Kenny) Jordan Price (Arlene) and Steven Ray Price. She later married Robert Jones (Bob) of Elizabeth, NJ. From the marriage are Carl Bauer (Maria), Erich Bauer (Gail), Robert Jones Jr. and wife Jody, Richard Arthur Jones and wife Nadine. Also surviving are Bob's adopted daughters from South America, Jeannette Jones and Rachael Williams (James). Hazel is also survived by four grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by siblings, Claudia Deeds (Peanut or Nut), Sandra Newcomer (Russell) and Norman Metz (Doc). She was predeceased by brother Hayes (JR) Metz. A special thanks to sister, Claudia Deeds and aunts Marie Smith and Shirley Johnson for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Frederick Baptist Church, 5305 Mt. Zion Road, Frederick, MD 21703 or to Kline Hospice House, C/O Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, January 16 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Funeral Home. John Y. Seay, pastor of her church, will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
