Obituary
Harry L. Witmer, Sr. 76, of Frederick, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. He was the husband to the late Linda Patricia Witmer.Harry was retired after 35 years at the Frederick Ford Motor Company, where he ran the used car department. He loved fast cars and was an excellent mechanic. He could fix just about anything. He was from a family of fruit growers on Braddock Mountain, "Witmer's Orchard". He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Helen Witmer; two sisters, Joyce and Roxanne; and his brother Jim. He is survived by four sisters, Nancy, Betty, Harriet (his twin), and Judy; brother, Johnny; his four children, Harry L. Witmer Jr., and wife Debra of Littlestown, Darren Witmer, Melinda Witmer, Donna Hawkins and husband Johnny, all of Frederick. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy Witmer, Daren Summers, Shawnna Early, Brandie Duvall, Chris and Matt Pasco. Harry loved animals and is survived by his Boston terrier, Buster, who went with him everywhere. The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 11am at the funeral home. The Reverend Kenneth Dunnington will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryland SPCA, Development Office, 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21211.
