Obituary
Harold L Stilwell Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017. He was born on January 17, 1929 in Oneonta, NY. He was the son of the late Robert S and Mildred (McMullen) Stilwell. He was predeceased in death by his wife, Mae V Stilwell, in 1984. He was also predeceased by five siblings; Doris, Wanda, Gordon, Rodney & Ralph. Harold served our country honorably for 20 years in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant and began working at Frederick Controls and later, Airpax, as a control mechanic. Harold enjoyed spending time with his family and with friends. He liked to entertain them with his vast array of knowledge and witty sense of humor. He enjoyed watching sports, especially if the Giants or Yankees were playing (and more importantly winning). He enjoyed reading, particularly books about history. He also liked to recall of his experiences in the Army. He is survived by one son, Harold (Louie) Stilwell Jr and wife Janet. Two grandchildren; Brandon Stilwell & wife, Terri, Kim Anderson & husband Kenny and five great grandchildren; Ashleigh, Alex & Caleb Stilwell and Kenleigh & Keira Anderson. He will be remembered and greatly missed by Alice Sier, his partner of 30 years. He will also be missed by Alice's family, whom he considered his own; Steve & Mary Sier, Chris Sier. Their children and grandchildren; Krystal, Ashley & Lindsay Sier and Kim & Andy Pestka and children; Payton & Cameron. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in his home state of New York. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd from 11-12 PM with a service beginning at noon at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick.
