Grace Catherine Whisman's Obituary
Grace Catherine Whisman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 16, 1946, and lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering devotion to those around her.
Grace was the heart of her family, the rock and the glue that held generations together. The daughter of Evelyn and Joseph, she shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, David Whisman, a testament to enduring love, faith, and partnership.
She was a proud and devoted mother to her three children: her son, Paul, and her daughters, Dawn and Annie. A mother-in-law to her son's wife, Wendy and eldest daughter, Dawns, husband Vince. Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren: Scott, Catherine and her husband Joey, Steven, Kristi, Amber, Bruce, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Rylee, Brody, and Rowen, each of whom she cherished deeply and loved beyond measure.
Grace dedicated over 35 years of her life working at Asbury, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives with her kindness and strong work ethic.
A woman of deep faith, Grace was a devoted Catholic whose beliefs guided her life and the love she shared with others. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures like taking trips to Disney World, relaxing by the pool soaking up the sun, enjoying crabs with family, and spending time playing bingo. No matter where she was, she brought laughter, warmth, and a sense of togetherness.
Grace had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel loved and valued. She poured kindness into every person she met, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, wisdom, and radiant spirit brought comfort and joy to countless lives.
She will be remembered for her gentle strength, her generous heart, and the light she carried within her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to guide and inspire her family forever.
Grace’s services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Frederick MD. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, March 26, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and burial beginning at 3:00 PM.
