Gladys Smith's Obituary
Gladys Marie Smith, 85, passed away in Germantown, MD on November 9th, 2023, surrounded by family.
Born July 11, 1938, in Lime Kiln, MD, she was the daughter of William Edward and Goldie Elizabeth (Summers) Ramsburg. She was the wife of the late James Edward Smith, lived in Frederick County for most of her life, and worked at Eastalco until she retired. She loved working in her yard, bowling, Bible Study, and spending time with her family, especially playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her children: Terri, Bill (Kevin), Peachy (Lon), and Jimmy (Cari); her grandchildren: Gabriel (Suzanne), Hope (Rick), Rob (Rachel), Matt (Kayla), Jimmy (Tasha), and Josh (Sarah); her great grandchildren: Warren, Katelynn, Nikki, Aneyssa, Bernard, Alex, Yahleah, Wrenn, Makayla, Ayden, Lucas, Caleb, Weston, Sunnie, and McKenzie. She was predeceased by her husband, mother, father, sister Bettye Crabb, great-grandson Gavin, and special friend Alex Ulrich. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is remembered dearly also by granddaughter Bessy Paul.
Her services will be private and for immediate family, per her wishes. A celebration of life will happen at a later date so everyone can come together and share their fond memories of Gladys.
