Gisela Lamkey's Obituary
Gisela L. Lamkey, 91, of Frederick, Maryland, and formerly of The Villages, Florida, and Lake Pleasant, NY, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and devotion to her family.
Born on October 28, 1934, in Hockenheim, Germany, to Emil Antonio and Magalena Gantner, Gisela eventually moved to the United States and built a life centered on family and community. In May 1959, she married Walter Langlotz. They shared 36 years of marriage and a life in Lake Pleasant until Walter's passing in March 1995.
Gisela was a steadfast professional in her field, working for many years as a meatcutter at the Grand Union in Utica, NY, until her well-earned retirement.
She later found companionship again with William Lamkey, whom she married in 2006. She and William moved to the sunshine of Florida, where they remained together until his death in September 2010. Gisela later relocated to Frederick, Maryland, in 2022 to be near her family.
Gisela was predeceased by her parents, her brother Erhard Gantner, and her stepson Kurt Langlotz (Sharon). She is survived by her stepchildren, Joanna Langlotz Mundchenk and Karl Langlotz; her grandchildren, Renee (Rich) Walchuck, Marcia (Justin) Gildar, and Amy (Bill) Hubble; and her seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Walker, Matthew Walchuck, Rachel Walchuck, Ryan Walchuck, Ethan Hubble, Sam Gildar, and Ava Hubble.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Crown Hill Memorial Park in New Hartford, NY, with a specific date to be determined.
