Gayla Marie White's Obituary
Gayla Marie White, 71, of Frederick, MD passed away on March 13, 2026. She was born on March 20, 1954, in Kennedy Township, PA to John White Sr., and June White.
Gayla is survived by her mother, June White of Mars, PA;her brother, John White (Alicia) of St. Augustine FL; her sister, Toni Taylor (Tony) of Fayetteville GA; and her brother Ian White of Pittsburgh PA. She also leaves behind two nieces, a nephew, and a large community of cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John White, Sr and her long-time partner, Arthur Alston.
Gayla was known for a good sense of humor, her infectious spirit, and a deep love of family history. A graduate of Quaker Valley High School, she went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh. She loved being around people, especially family, and enjoyed gardening.
A memorial service to celebrate Gayla’s life will be held in Pittsburgh, PA later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Crestfield Camp & Conference Center in Slippery Rock, PA. Gayla attended this camp in her youth and later worked there as a Camp Counselor.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
