Obituary
Gabriel Scott Kennedy, 43, of Oakdale, PA entered paradise on September 17, 2016, following a heroic battle with brain cancer that began in February of this year. Born on April 21, 1973, he was the only child of Don and April Kennedy of Frederick, MD. Gabriel graduated from Plum Senior High School in Pittsburgh, PA in 1992 and Vale Technical Institute in Blairsville, PA in 1998. Gabriel worked in the auto glass business for over 22 years and was well known at Pittsburgh auto glass shops and auto dealerships. Gabriel was an outdoorsman with activities that included hunting, fishing and hiking. Gabriel was also an accomplished cook and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. His hobby was working on Chrysler Neon cars that included a high performance Neon that was entered in numerous car shows in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio. Gabriel was a kind, generous and decent man who would not hesitate to assist and help people. The numerous accolades provided by his friends and co-workers testify to the character of a beloved man. Gabriel is survived by his parents, maternal grandmother, Rose M. Baker of Martinsburg, PA, step-sons Jason and Nicholas Jamison of Dunkirk, MD and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. The family would like to thank friends, family members and co-workers for their acts of kindness and prayers. Further, the family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the following organizations: North Fayette Township Police Department, Northwest EMS, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Department of Neurosurgery and Center for Brain Injury Rehabilitation, The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University, Sibley Memorial Hospital, The National Institutes of Health Neuro-Oncology Brain Tumor Clinic, Frederick Memorial Hospital and Carroll Hospice in Westminster, MD. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
