Obituary
Mr. Fred Hochhauser, 82, of Frederick and formerly of Takoma Park, MD, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2018. He was the husband of Carol Ann Hochhauser of Frederick, his wife of 54 years. Born in Braddock, PA, Fred was the son of the late Joseph and Goldie Hochhauser. He went to work for Bonds Clothing in Washington, DC before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Fred was stationed near Anchorage, Alaska, and after his return from military service he continued his career in retail clothing sales. He worked for Lewis & Thomas Saltz in Washington, DC, and spent 14 years with Brooks Brothers in Tysons Corner before retiring. In retirement, he continued to volunteer at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Fred had the "gift of gab" and was an excellent storyteller. He was a longtime member of the McDonalds Breakfast Club, and he loved spending time with his family most of all. In addition to his loving wife, Fred is survived by two daughters, Tracy Parsly & husband John and Jill Brenner & husband Robert; a sister, Esther Chottiner; a brother, Allen Hochhauser & wife Sonnie; four grandchildren, Shane, Shelby, Morgan and Jacob; three great-grandchildren, Lilah, Brooks and Addie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerome and Irving, and by his sister Florence. A graveside service will begin with military honors at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 8th in the Garden of Solomon at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick. Please omit flowers.
