Frances Rosanna Putman Reynolds Wilkins, 87, of Frederick, MD, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville, MD. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Marshall Reynolds in 1979 and Lyle Wilkins in 2007. Born December 7, 1928 in Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lester O. and Viola Hahn Putman. Frances graduated in 1946 from Frederick High School. She worked for Dan Wright at Monocacy Farms in Frederick for 15 years before leaving in 1970 to attend Frederick Community College's Nursing Program and graduated in 1972. Upon graduation she was an RN working at Vindobona Nursing Home. She later worked at Citizens Nursing Home and retired from there in November, 2011. Through her years as a nurse, she was always an advocate for her patients. Frances is survived by her four daughters, Deborah A. Johnson (Warren), and Paula Grimes, both of Frederick, Tammy Edwards (Lantis) and Cathy Hurst-Richards (Jim), both of Cumberland, MD; grandchildren, Gregory M. Seymour (Shannon) of West Virginia, Mark T. Seymour (Laurie) of Apex, NC, Steven Hurst (Carrie) and Jennifer Grimes of Frederick, and Rosanna Richards of Cumberland; brothers, Lester Putman (Flo), Ralph Putman (Carol); sisters Dorothy Bailey (Phil), Kathy Cioffi and Susan Rizzo. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary W. Grimes, Jr., a brother, Lewis Putman, and sisters Carol Benton and Betty Wellen. Frances enjoyed going to carnivals to listen to the bands and spending time with grandchildren at the pool. She was a member for over 50 years of the Business and Professional Women's Organization and served many years as the membership chair. Frances' family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care she received from the caregivers and staff at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center during her stay. Visitation will be held from 7 - 9 PM on Thursday, February 11th at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 12th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) or to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
