Frances Virginia Knott's Obituary
Frances Virginia Knott peacefully passed away on January 7, 2024, following a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and cherished cats. Frances was born on June 25, 1943 to the late Arthur and Lucille Taylor and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.
In 1971, she moved to Frederick with her family. SAIC employed her as an analyst, and she worked diligently during the 1990s as their analyst for them. This job would provide her with the opportunity to travel to various countries around the world, including Germany, Italy, and Iceland. Above all else, Frances cherished her family, considering it the most important thing. Her family was always her top priority, and she would selflessly prioritize them over herself. In addition to her other passions, she has a strong love for her cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Merson; son, Russ Knott (Page Knott); grandchildren, Austin Knott, Christian Knott, Angela Merson, Christopher Merson (Mckenzi), and Dakota Merson (Linz); great-grandchildren, Kabien Biggus, Demonte Gray, Liam Merson, Brooklyn Merson, Liam Sweeney and Vincent Miller; brother, Author Taylor; sister, Virgie McFadden; nieces and nephews, Debbie Taylor Bull, Sue Cavey; great nephews and nieces, Ashley Beck, Brian Cavey, Author Taylor and Bobby Taylor; dear friend, Berry; and beloved cats, Macho, Mister, Coco and Patience. Frances is also survived by her Walmart family, boyfriend, Joe; children, Christina, Ashley, Arron, Keri and Jay; friends, John and Sharon.
Services were held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home, Frederick.
