Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Lorraine Forrest, 92, of Sabillasville, Maryland, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Joseph's Ministries. She was the wife of the late Theodore Thomas Forrest, Jr. Evelyn and Theodore moved to Sabillasville in 1952 and resided there for over 50 years. Born November 28, 1923 in Wigville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Flora Wolf Green. Mrs. Forrest was a very active member of Church of God Prophecy in Sabillasville, was a mission leader, bookkeeper, Sunday School Teacher and general all around worker. As a teenager, she worked for several families doing housework, farm-work and numerous other things. In around 1971, she began working at Round Meadow camp for the Royer family and continued there for many years. After that she went to work at Mountaingate Restaurant and worked there until her retirement. She is survived by her children Fay L. Kuhn and husband Edward of Sabillasville, and Dennis R. Forrest and wife Carin of Cascade. a daughter-in-law Beth Forrest of Sabillasville, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, two step-great great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Charlotte of Fairfield, PA. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter Diane P. Black and husband Theodore, and son Dale R. Forrest, three brothers Frederick, Lee and Thomas "John" Green. The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Wednesday, February 17, from 6-8:00 pm where services will be held Thursday February 18 at 1:00 pm with Rev. W. Carey Cox and Pastor William Parks officiating.
