Eugene P. Burkhardt,81, of Crystal Spring, Pennsylvania, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 near Jacksonville, North Carolina. Born on September 16, 1936, in Braddock, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Grace (Kelly) Burkhardt. Eugene was the Director of Production with Ryan Homes/NVR of Maryland. He was an avid Steeler's fan and sportsman. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dolores J. Burkhardt; his four children, Elaine, Francis, Michael (Lisa) and David (Val); 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one on the way. Eugene was preceded in death by his four brothers, Francis, Richard, Regis and Raymond; and by his three sisters, Mary, Ann Louise and Irmina. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road in Walkersville. Rev. Juan Vazquez Rubio will officiate. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. The family invites guests to join them at the Lewistown Firehall, 11101 Hessong Bridge Road, Frederick, after burial services, for a time of food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
