Mrs. Ethel L. Laube Lorenzen, 88, of Braddock Heights, formerly of Yellow Springs, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015 at Vindobona Nursing and Rehab Center. Born DecA a a emberA a a 11, 1926 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Minnie (Schad) LaubeA a a . She married Bernard "Pappy" LorenzenA a a on December 26, A a a 1948A a a , and they moved from New York to Frederick shortly afterwards. A a a Ethel was a longtime member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, where she was active with the Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Opti-Mrs. Club of Frederick and a Cub Scout Co-Den Mother. Mrs. Lorenzen is survived by a son, Peter E. Lorenzen (and Lee) of Dallas, TX; and two daughters, Nancy E. L. Galvin (and Michael) of GreelA a a eA a a y, CO, and Judith A. Cauley of Mt. Airy, MD; five grandchildren, Greg Cauley of A a a Frederick, A a a MD, Miranda Galvin-Hallquist ofA a a State College, A a a PA, Jenna Galvin ofA a a Greeley, A a a CO, Sarah Lorenzen ofA a a Chicago, A a a IA a a L,A a a and Katherine Lorenzen ofA a a Austin, A a a TX; four great-grandchildren, ChristianA a a and A a a EvelynA a a Cauley,A a a and Graham and KieranA a a HallquistA a a ; and two nephews, David Laube and James Lorenzen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, and by her brother, Robert Laube. Friends are welcome to join the family for a committal service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 12th at Clustered Spires Cemetery, 501 Linden Avenue in Frederick.
