Obituary
God received another angel, Ernest W. "Lucky" May Jr., 86, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Born on September 7, 1931, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Ernest, Sr. and Lillian Mae (Allison) May. Lucky and his (late) brother, David, owned and operated May Brothers, Inc. and then was a superintendent with various construction companies. He drove school bus #404 with the Frederick County Public School System until his retirement. After retirement he worked, for a short time, in the photography department for the Walmart on Guilford Drive. He was a member of the Brunswick Eagles for many years. Lucky enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father, brother and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Shelby Scott-May, of Knoxville. In addition to his wife, Shelby, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. May of Harpers Ferry, WV and Tempie C. Powell of Frederick; one sister, Mary Alice Smith of Frederick; two sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lucky was preceded in death by one brother, David Lamar May; and former wife, Catherine May McKinnon. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4th at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick with Rev. Dr. Sherman Lambert officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Memorial donations may be made to charity of your choice.
