Eric Warren Cochran's Obituary
Eric Warren Cochran, born January 16, 1968, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, after a long illness. His departure leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who loved him, yet his memory continues to shine brightly through the many lives he touched.
Eric was the beloved son of Penelope Cochran-Lilly and the late Walter Roger “Buddy” Cochran Jr. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, William Edwin Cochran.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Erin Cochran, who was, in his own words, “the light of his life.” Eric’s devotion to Erin was unwavering, and his pride in her was evident to all who knew him. He is also survived by his mother, Penelope; his brothers Mike Cochran (Kathy) and Walter Roger “Wally” Cochran III (Lavonna); his nephew Roger Cochran (Kim); and numerous other nieces and nephews who adored him.
A 1986 graduate of Poolesville High School, Eric carried with him a kind spirit and a joyful heart throughout his life. He had a natural warmth that made people feel welcome, and he loved to laugh—often filling a room with his easy humor and gentle presence.
Eric found joy in life’s simple, meaningful pleasures. He was an avid pianist, often losing himself in the music he loved to play. He enjoyed cooking and baking, sharing meals that brought family together. Nature was his sanctuary—whether he was fishing, tending to his plants, or feeding the hummingbirds that visited his home. Time spent with family was his greatest treasure, and he nurtured those relationships with quiet devotion.
His kindness, his laughter, and his deep love for the world around him will be remembered always. Though his absence is profound, the legacy he leaves—of gentleness, creativity, and unwavering love—will continue to live on in those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Eric’s family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with those who passed before him, and that his spirit remains present in every memory shared, every song played, and every moment of laughter he inspired.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing.
Inurnment will take place April 3, 2026 at 10:30 am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
