Emerson Pearrell's Obituary
Emerson “Johnny” Ellsworth Pearrell Sr.,92 of Brunswick, MD, passed away on Thursday, January, 8, 2026 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.
Emerson was born September 27, 1933, in Frederick, MD. He was the son of the late James Russell Pearrell and Edith Pauline (Wisner) Pearrell of Brunswick, MD. Emerson married in 1956 to Marcella Louise (Gall) Pearrell of Cumberland, MD. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James (Jerry) Pearrell, and Owen (Bake) Pearrell as well as one sister, Ernestine (Pearrell) Reynolds.
Emerson graduated from Brunswick High School in 1952 and enlisted/served in the United States Navy for 4 years with an honorable discharge in 1956.
Emerson worked at Grams Gas Station, Frederick Memorial Hospital, Wetnight Electric, and Washington Terminal/Amtrak.
Emerson was a member of the Faith of Assembly of God church.
Emerson enjoyed camping at the Potomac River in Brunswick, MD.
Emerson is survived by his brothers, Richard Pearrell and David Pearrell as well as 6 children, Emerson (Butch) Pearrell Jr., Roxanne (Pearrell) Hodge, Sonya Pearrell, Jody Pearrell, Stephanie (Pearrell) Kennedy, Lester Pearrell and 20 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, MD on Friday, January 16th, 2026 from 10am-11am, with the funeral service to follow. Interment with miliary honors will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD.
