Elizabeth Ann Galope's Obituary
Elizabeth “Liz” Galope was born on March 31, 1958, in Washington, DC to the late Frank and Arlene Galope. She passed away on Tuesday February 20, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Liz was only 65 years of age, and her family is deeply saddened by her death.
Liz is survived by her loving fiancé Robert Snyder, her children Jessica Carter and Jason Kemp, her three grandchildren Sean Carter, Anna Carter and Joe Kemp, her three sisters Diane Gammon, Christine Turner, Elaine Woodrow and one brother Joe Galope as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
Liz and Robert originally met in 1978 but their lives took them on different paths until many years later in their 60’s when they reconnected and chose each other as life partners.
Liz was a fun spirited soul who loved her friends and family fiercely. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up and made sure to send them cards for every holiday. Some of her favorite things were lighthouses, gardening, spontaneous adventures, Peaks Island, watching her favorite local sports teams the Orioles and the Redskins and having fun with her “Golden Girls”.
Liz had a big heart, wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She also could be strong-willed and stubborn at times but that is what gave her the strength to fight the many challenges that she faced. She was loved dearly and will be forever missed.
