Edwin Oscar Melendez-Rosario's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edwin O. Melendez-Rosario-a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and cherished friend. Edwin passed away on February 28, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland, following a courageous fight with brain cancer. He was born on March 22, 1973, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to Edwin Melendez and the late Lydia Esther Rosario. He was the beloved brother of Josue Melendez-Rosario.
Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Adianez, and their three children-Sebastian Alonzo, Issa Carolina, and Isabella—who were one of the greatest blessings and joys of his life.
During his 52 years, Edwin touched many lives with his wisdom, talents, humor, and bright smile. He loved sharing his hobbies with family and friends and was always eager to try new things, making sure everyone felt included. He was rarely still, never one to simply sit back—for him there was no limit. Edwin set an inspiring example of what it means to be an admirable husband, a devoted father and a true friend.
A truly meaningful moment in his life took place in 2020, when he was baptized.
With a joyful and grateful heart, he entered into a covenant with God, embracing His grace and the promise of new life. A man of strong and faithful belief, Edwin showed his love for the Lord in all he did. He found strength and comfort in scripture, living each day with trust in God's plan for his life.
Edwin's legacy of joy, resilience, and love of learning will live on in all who knew and loved him. Even in the face of adversity, he never lost his spark for life. Edwin was a true fighter, remaining fearless against every complication he encountered. He faced each challenge without complaint, always making the best of every situation. Even during his hardest moments, he found ways to bring smiles to others, choosing to uplift those around him despite his own pain. His life remains a powerful testament to love, courage, strength, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
