Earl Wingfield, 65, of Grantsville, MD passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. Earl was born on May 18, 1950 in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis W. and Virginia (Barbour) Wingfield, as well as his sister, Patsy Wingfield, and his son, Charles (Charlie) Wingfield. He is survived by his son, Ronald (Stacey) Wingfield of Hagerstown, MD; daughters, Stephanie Meadows of Narrows, VA, and Marie (Lonnie) Medley of Newport, VA; companion/best friend, Lynn Meadows of Narrows, VA; grandsons, Brandon, Anthony and Justin Wingfield, and Giovanni and Alexander Zamora of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughters, Charli and Alexa Wingfield and Madison Corral of Hagerstown, MD, and Tiffany, Tarah, Kelsi, and Natalie Medley of Newport, VA; daughter-in-law Tracy (Arturo) Zamora of Hagerstown, MD; brothers, Charlie (Linda) Wingfield of Copper Hill, VA and Lewis (Barbara) Wingfield of Charleston, SC. Also left to cherish his memory are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Earl was a retired Sheet Metal Mechanic, Local 100. He loved the outdoors and telling stories to anyone who would listen. He especially liked to have family and friends visit him at the cabin and enjoyed planning the activities. Milkshakes or s'mores, anyone? He was the beloved "Grandpappy" to all of his grandchildren, and shared a special bond with each one. He had a very unique perspective on life. He could talk more than anyone in the world. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Resthaven Historical Chapel, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD.
