Dorothy Mae Walsh, 86, of Frederick passed away on Wednesday, April 6th. She was the loving wife of James F. Walsh for 54 years. She was born on October 18, 1929 in Point of Rocks, Maryland to the late William and Nellie Spring. Dorothy was an avid sports fan who loved her Ravens and Orioles; she was an avid BINGO player and former member of the Junior Fire Department #2 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a "mother" to all she met. She was a huge animal lover and worked at Ft. Detrick for many years in the Histology Department. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son; Jay Walsh and wife Nancy. Grandchildren; Heather and Jordan Walsh, and Brooke Grossman and husband Jim. Great-grandchildren; Sage, Layla, Callan, Connor, and Vincent. Sisters; Betty Anderson, Phyllis Glover and husband Buster, and Ruth Ann Satterlee. Sister-in-laws; Anna Lee Spring and Hazel Spring. Brothers-in-law; Maynard Hamilton, "Boots" Siebert. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. She also leaves behind her devoted dog, Abe and her cat, Baby. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dan Woods. Son; Alan Woods. Daughter; Nancy Woods. Brothers; James Spring and Billy Spring. Sisters; Frances Compher, Helen Hamilton, Dolores Siebert and Ruby Sauser. A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 9th from 12-2 PM at the Resthaven Historical Chapel, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
