Donald Woodrow Lawson's Obituary
Donald Woodrow Lawson, 74, of Walkersville, MD passed away on July 25th, 2024 with his family by his side. Donald was born in Rockville, MD to the late Woodrow and Ruby (Phebus) Lawson on December 9th, 1949. On August 15th, 1969 he married Jean Leach and they had three sons: Wayne, Dan, and Doug. Together they shared a life full of family and fun.
Donald was very kind and giving; he was willing to help anyone in need. He served Frederick and the surrounding areas with Lawson’s Auto Craft where he worked alongside his family for over 50 years. “The shop” housed many memories for the Lawson family and although it was retired in 2022, it will always be a place close to everyone’s hearts.
Donald, often known as “Pap” or “Honey” loved his family and always had a soft spot for babies and dogs. He also cared for the home he built, his ‘55 Chevy and his Harley Davidson. Although he was not a man of many words, he had a great sense of humor and made sure everyone knew that they were loved and cared for.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Jean Lawson; three sons: Wayne Lawson (and wife Angie) , Dan Lawson (and partner Evelyn Fauble), and Doug Lawson; four grandchildren: Brittney Grossnickle (and husband Adam), Jordan Lawson, Erika Lawson, and Andrew Lawson. He also leaves behind five siblings: Shirley Pennington (and husband Mac), Gary Lawson (and wife Debbie), Linda Johnson (and husband Mike), Jerry Lawson (and wife Michelle), and Jill Lawson.
The family has special appreciation for his loving sister, Linda, and Hospice.
A private service will be held with the family.
