Donald Leroy Gilbert's Obituary
Early in the morning of February 16, 2023, Donald Leroy Gilbert, 86, peacefully made his way to eternal rest.
Donald was the son of the late Charles Eutaw Gilbert and May Elizabeth Gilbert.
He was preceded by his wife Jean Audrey Gilbert. Brothers Charles Morris Gilbert and James Edward Gilbert. Sisters Beatrice Viola Rice, Edna Marie Warrenfeltz, Lena Mae Norris, Francis Grace Gilbert and Marguerite Gilbert.
Donald enjoyed working and walking in the woods around his childhood home throughout his life. He taught his children about nature and passed his love of the outdoors to them.
Donald is survived by his daughter Donna Hering and her husband Rob Hering, grandson Derek Abplanalp. Son Randal Gilbert and his wife Sheila Gilbert. Sisters Catherine Wiles, Mary Gilbert, Helen Norris and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside gathering, we be held for friends and family at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on 10 May 2023 at 11:00am.
