Obituary
Delter Willis Catron, Sr., 85, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, lost his courageous battle with cancer on April 16th. He was the loving husband of Sarah Slick Catron for 43 years. He was born on June 8, 1930 in Chatham Hill, West Virginia to the late Martin Luther Catron and Myrtle Marie Catron Williams. Delter was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from 1951-1955. He was then employed by the M-NCCPC for 30 years as a shop foreman in mechanics until he retired in 1985. He loved to garden, weld, and work on cars and trucks. He also really loved big family get togethers. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son; Billy Catron of Boyds, MD. Two Step-sons; Ernest "Skip" Grimes of Frederick and Larry Grimes of Moundsville, WV. Step-daughter; Deborah Mummert of Martinsburg, WV. Sisters; Jerlean Eader of Poolesville, MD and Catherine Maus of Boonesboro, MD. 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. And numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter; Donna Marie Harley. Son; Delter Catron, Jr. Brothers; Raymond Catron, and Junior Legard Catron. Sisters; Mildred Cullop and Dorothy Woods. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21st from 7-9 PM at the Resthaven Historical Chapel, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, Maryland where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22nd at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Clary Grove Nursing Home, 209 Clover St., Martinsburg, WV 25404.
