It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Daw Kyawt Kyawt Khin, who left us on the morning of November 18, 2025.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep at Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Myanmar (Burma) on April 7, 1927
Daw Kyawt Kyawt Khin lived a remarkable 98 years filled with adventures, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. She traveled the world with boundless curiosity and an indomitable spirit that inspired everyone she met.
Daw Kyawt Kyawt Khin lived a long, vibrant life, a strong spirit fuelled by her faith and love of her family. She touched the lives of those fortunate to know her for tenderness, wisdom, generosity, and leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade.
The memory of her strength and the love she shared is cherished and deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as a host of many other loving family members from all over the world, extended family members, and dear friends.
As we grieve the loss of the matriarch and root of our family, her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express—yet we find comfort in celebrating the extraordinary gift of her long and vibrant life.
Though time has taken her physical presence from us, her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain forever in our hearts and memories.
The void left by her absence speaks volumes to the space she held in our hearts. Words cannot articulate how she will be missed.
May Daw Kyawt Kyawt Khin be free from suffering, at peace in the pure lands, and swiftly reborn in the presence of the Buddhas. By the power of her good karma and the blessings of the donations may she attain the supreme bliss of Nibbāna.
May she rest in eternal peace.
